The Frigidaire EFIC452-SS remains to be the first pick for an affordable countertop clear ice maker. At $149, the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS is competitive against the new faces like the Euhomy IM-FP and Euhomy IM-FM. It delivers the clear cube ices instead of bullet ices like the cheaper Frigidaire EFIC123-SS.
This ice maker is specifically for people who prioritize dense, slow-melting cubes over trendy chewable pellets. The Frigidaire EFIC452-SS is also more affordable than something like the Frigidaire EFIC255, but it is expected for a smaller ice machine.

Aside from minor styling updates, the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS looks very much like other stainless steel countertop ice makers. Its rectangular frame, control placement, transparent window, and even the overall proportions appear largely unchanged from the Frigidaire standard. It is definitely a Frigidaire countertop ice maker.
At 14 x 11 x 15 inches, it’s similar to the bullet ice maker, like my Frigidaire EFIC121. It’s also heavier at 25.54 pounds, which I assume is down to the more robust compressor and larger storage.
Despite the size similarities to other premium ice makers, the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS quite fits the compact countertop category – the body is suitable for most users.
All the materials appear solid, and the stainless steel construction should handle daily use well. Naturally, I ran our ice maker through extended testing cycles, just to ensure it could handle continuous operation. It performed admirably.

First batch timing proves particularly satisfying at 15-18 minutes from cold startup – which is so-so in the world of countertop clear ice makers. This initial batch creates 24 clear square cubes, and as you can see, both the Euhomy IM-FP and Euhomy IM-FM make ice faster.
For the internal storage, the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS has a generous 2.4-pound bin, so it takes roughly 3-4 production cycles before requiring removal.

Also, the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS ice quality is clearer than the Euhomy IM-FP, but nothing extraordinary. If ultimate clarity is what you’re after, True Cubes can deliver much better results for less money, though it does take significantly more time.

The unit’s focus on clear ice production rather than feature complexity reflects Frigidaire’s positioning as a practical solution for users prioritizing ice quality over convenience technologies that may add complexity without proportional benefit for most households. I know it is 2025, but the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS can give you only basic functions. It has a timer, which I don’t really care about.
