The Silonn SLIM43 is Silonn’s latest countertop model released in their expanding lineup, following on from their popular bullet ice maker series and preceding what will likely be further innovations in home ice production. Let’s take a look at the Silonn SLIM43 review.
In Ice Artisan, I only review the ice makers that I had used or repaired. So I can guarantee that:
- I give you honest review (both pros and cons) of an ice maker. No hidden deal behind the website.
- I share my technician’s point of view, so I focus not only on the performance, but also the build of an ice maker.
- I compile an ice maker ranking list (coming soon) so you can compare all ice makers easily.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Price
- Available to buy now
- Costs $269 in the U.S market
Reading this, you’re either here curious about who Silonn is and what this nugget ice maker brings to the table compared to more well-known offerings, having never heard the name before or you’re already clued-in on the story of the budget-focused brand and the existence of their countertop range.
Ahead of launch, nugget ice makers have been marketed as machines to help inject some joy back into home refreshment. So does this Silonn fulfill its purpose? The Silonn SLIM43 isn’t cheap, it costs even higher than most traditional nugget ice makers you can find on the market, like the Frigidaire EFIC255, or the Euhomy IM-16.
At $269 (original $299), the Silonn SLIM43 is in the top of Silonn’s line. This is the very new design of a countertop nugget ice maker – one thing that you will love in 2026.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Durability
Silonn SLIM43 Review: Design
- Front control board
- Detachable water tank
- New design
Although we were able to study the Silonn’s design in product photos ahead of testing, getting hands on the machine is unquestionably a richer experience.
The overall design bears an immediate resemblance to the newer Silonn SLIM41, namely due to the Silonn SLIM43 rounded plastic housing, front-mounted controls, and top-loading water arrangement; just add a removable tank, shrink the footprint slightly, and voila.
‘Why a removable tank?’ you might ask. Well, the big hook of the Silonn SLIM43’s form is its top – it lifts completely free. While we’ve seen detachable water tanks before on coffee makers and humidifiers, usually on ice makers they’re either only partially removable or simply non-existent. Silonn SLIM43, for its part, has designed the 3L reservoir to be both functional and convenient.
As you lift the tank from the machine, the transparent sides reveal water levels and the ribbed interior texture prevents algae buildup, making this a far more practical rectangle of plastic to work with than most other nugget makers on the market.
Silonn serves up this nugget ice maker in a single finish: black – offering a straightforward appearance that won’t demand attention on your countertop, though the chunky proportions at 12.1 inches wide by 9.9 inches deep by 14.9 inches tall are sure to make their presence known when you set it down.
The machine weighs roughly 20 pounds when empty, making it portable enough to move between countertop spots but substantial enough that it won’t walk across your counter during operation.
The dimensions put it slightly smaller than the GE Profile Opal 2.0 (15.5 x 10.5 x 17.2 inches) but chunkier than basic bullet ice makers, which makes sense given the auger mechanism required for nugget ice production.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Build
- Silonn has decent durability
Despite its chunky proportions, the edges of the plastic housing are subtly rounded to ensure that the Silonn is easier to position than you’d expect and, what’s more, it feels lighter than its build might suggest – at roughly 20 pounds, it sits well below the threshold beyond which a countertop ice maker’s weight starts to feel cumbersome.
Speaking of wear patterns, even with continuous use in a busy kitchen, the Silonn SLIM43 does a decent job of resisting stains, and when you do spot water spots, they wipe away easily enough.
The power button on the front control panel and the ice size selector respond with tactile feedback, without requiring a lot of force, while the plastic construction means the Silonn SLIM43 can handle kitchen splashes without issue, and should prevent moisture from working its way into the electrical components; just don’t submerge it in the sink or subject it to continuous water exposure.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Performance
Silonn SLIM43 Review: Capacity
- Produces up to 40 lbs per day
- Internal storage: 3 lbs
One of the most practical aspects of the Silonn SLIM43 is the inclusion of that detachable 3L water tank, with the company employing a design approach rarely seen at this $270 price point.
This comes paired with a 40-pound daily production capacity, sitting comfortably in the middle of the nugget ice maker range between budget 33-pounders and premium 44-pound models. The 40-pound output won’t win awards based on competitive benchmarks, but for most households should be more than enough for everything from daily beverage service to weekend entertaining. I tested it continuously over five days and it consistently delivered between 38-42 pounds per 24-hour period.
The first batch timing clocks in at 8 minutes from cold start. It’s far better than traditional countertop nugget ice makers. The storage basket holds roughly 3 pounds of nugget ice before triggering the full sensor, which means you’ll want to transfer ice to your freezer if you’re planning ahead for parties.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Ice Quality
- Nugget ice
- Better than old Silonn nugget ice
While the storage basket clocks in at an unassuming 3-pound capacity, the nugget ice itself delivers on texture and chewability.
The nugget ice production – supported by that detachable water tank – is ubiquitous amongst budget nugget makers, while the 8-minute production cycle delivers a reasonable degree of consistency when comparing batch to batch.
Making ice on the Silonn SLIM43 is satisfying: the cycle is reasonably fast in normal room temperatures and nuggets from the auger system serve up a pleasing amount of chewability, plus a texture that dabbles, tastefully, with that classic Sonic-style crunch.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Energy and Water Consumption
- Normal water and energy consumption
I wrote an article of “How much electricity does an ice maker use?” to give you a free calculator to find out whether you are spending more on your ice maker or not. Behind the plastic housing and the refrigeration components, the Silonn SLIM43 runs on a compressor system; which pulls roughly 110 watts during active ice production.
Water consumption is similar to other nugget ice makers from Silonn, about 15 gallons for 100 pounds of ice. When the reservoir runs dry you’ll need to refill it, and there’s no plumbed water line option. Just a few minutes of refilling was enough to get production running again.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Noise Level
- Not quiet operation
Given that Silonn’s focus has been on budget-friendly appliances, it should come as no surprise that the Silonn SLIM43 doesn’t feature advanced sound dampening, instead operating with typical compressor noise during active cycles.
The Silonn SLIM43 produces operational noise from two sources, but understand that it’s not an even split, with the majority of the sound coming from the compressor during ice production, while the auger contributes grinding sounds during nugget formation.
Noise levels are acceptable during operation of the Silonn SLIM43, with no particularly jarring sounds, even during the loudest production phases. The hum is consistent, making it easy to tune out in kitchens, and while it’s not whisper-quiet, the machine does manage to stay below conversation-disrupting volumes.
Silonn claims 40-50 dB operation, which puts it roughly equivalent to a quiet refrigerator hum. In practice, the compressor of the Silonn SLIM43 sits at the lower end of that range (around 43 dB) during steady operation, while the auger grinding when forming nuggets pushes toward 50 dB.

Silonn SLIM43 Review: Features
- Has self-cleaning feature
- Add water alert, ice full notification
- Timer
Silonn SLIM43 loads with a straightforward control panel ahead of operation, with LED indicators showing ice-making status, water level, and full basket alerts; however, the feature set offers more depth than first appears.
Some inclusions – like the self-cleaning function – feel particularly convenient, although there are also signs of features still missing that competitors offer, not to mention there are absent additions (such as app connectivity or adjustable ice texture) that would benefit the particular user experience.
Silonn does deserve kudos for including both the timer function and detachable tank for the Silonn SLIM43; making the machine that much more appealing in terms of both value for money and daily convenience.
The control panel of the Silonn SLIM43 offers three buttons: Power/Ice, Timer, and Clean. The LED indicators use different colors to communicate status – blue for active ice making, red for water needed, and green for basket full.
The self-cleaning function activates by holding the Clean button for 5 seconds, running a 15-minute cycle that flushes the system. This doesn’t eliminate the need for manual descaling with citric acid solution, but it does help maintain freshness between deep cleans.
The timer function lets you schedule ice production up to 12 hours in advance, so you can have fresh ice ready when you wake up or when guests arrive. In standby mode, you set when the machine starts; in active mode, you set when it stops.
