Euhomy IM-18 Review: Trusted Review by Technician in 2025

The Euhomy IM-18 is just another stepping stone to the Euhomy IM-06, in which way the Euhomy IM-19 did. If I am being honest, the Euhomy IM-18 is essentially the same IM-19 at different color options. Still, if this is your first time reading my Euhomy IM-18 review, I recommend to finish it. The Euhomy IM-18 is a decent countertop ice maker with better price than the popular Euhomy IM-06, so why not take one instead.

In Ice Artisan, I only review the ice makers that I had used or repaired. So I can guarantee that:

  • I give you honest review (both pros and cons) of an ice maker. No hidden deal behind the website.
  • I share my technician’s point of view, so I focus not only on the performance, but also the build of an ice maker.
  • I compile an ice maker ranking list (coming soon) so you can compare all ice makers easily.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Price

  • Available to buy now
  • Costs $89 in the U.S market
  • Comes with only 5 different colors

Typically we don’t care about the process of a successful appliance, in this situation the best-selling Euhomy IM-06 on Amazon. We will ignore the existence of things like the Euhomy IM-18 and Euhomy IM-19, which deliver nearly the same performance at cheaper price. But I know the reason, Euhomy isn’t a common name for us, the U.S customers, who get used to the brands like Igloo and Frigidaire.

If you want to save a few dollars for buying an Euhomy countertop ice maker that has lots of positive reviews on Amazon, the Euhomy IM-18 is one of the first models, selling at just about $89. Though its original price is the same as the IM-06, the Euhomy IM-18 can be a lot cheaper if you buy one from my website. And for budget-conscious buyers, sometimes the best ice maker is the cheapest one.

At the moment, Euhomy portable ice maker is the hero product, thanks to its useful and convenient handle, which is evident from the aggressive online and offline marketing campaigns the company has been carrying out. If you want an American ice maker name, the Igloo ICEB26HN delivers the same value in addition to the long-awaited self-cleaning feature. For me, the Frigidaire EFIC123-SS is still my top pick for the best budget ice maker at $89 price mark.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Durability

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Design

  • Use front control board instead
  • Bigger window lid
  • Has handle
  • Multiple color options

The Euhomy IM-18 measures 9.25 inches deep, 11.54 inches wide, and 11.61 inches tall, creating a compact cube-like profile that maximizes interior capacity while minimizing counter space usage. It is one of the smallest countertop ice makers that I’ve reviewed in 2025, which is similar to the Euhomy IM-06 that you probably look too many times on Amazon.

Weighing just 13.38 pounds, it’s notably lighter than many competitors with similar ice production. Adding a convenient handle, the Euhomy IM-18 defeats the definition that an application should stay in one place. For many people who want to bring their ice maker into the backyard or outdoor camp, the Euhomy IM-18 works as a great ice basket.

I feel like the Euhomy IM-18 is notably the extended color option for the Euhomy IM-19, to the point that I don’t really understand why Euhomy chose to separate them into different product pages. Perhaps for being visible to us, the audiences, because my testing Euhomy IM-18 unit is really similar to the Euhomy IM-19 that I previously reviewed.

The Euhomy IM-18’s colors tend to be neutral, with an addition of pink color. It isn’t a premium color, instead it is unique, and can match with some kitchen decors. Other than that, it’s just an ordinary countertop ice maker, with front control board. Ah yes, talking about the front control board, I will repeat that I prefer the top control board for my ice maker. Still, you should imagine whether the top control board is right at your fingertip or not.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Build

  • Euhomy has decent durability
  • Not enough data to tell

The build of Euhomy’s countertop ice makers follows the same basic procedure as other big-name brands, but it lacks the quality control you’d expect, likely to keep the price low. It’s decent for the price, nothing more. That said, the market is still missing major players like Philips or Samsung, which leaves room for brands like Euhomy to stand out.

For the status of countertop ice makers at the moment, it seems you can only get maximum of 1-year warranty for your purchase, whether it is Euhomy, Frigidaire or Igloo. You can add more protection on Amazon, and I find lots of people think it is “far better” than the usual warranty from ice maker brands.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Performance

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Capacity

  • Produces up to 26 lbs of ice daily
  • Internal storage: 1.3 lbs

The Euhomy IM-18 is advertised to produce up to 26.5 pounds of ice per day. I find it funny to make different numbers for the capacity: 26, 26.5 or 27 pounds per day, when it is only ideal when you do nothing but take ice out immediately. For a common countertop ice maker, you should only notice of the internal storage. The more storage, the less time you need to collect your ice, because ice production stop whenever the ice maker detects its basket is full.

The Euhomy IM-18 is very similar to the Euhomy IM-19, with only about a 6-second difference in first batch speed between the two. So, realistically, it’s not something most people will even notice or care about.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Ice Quality

  • Bullet ice
  • A bit softer but cloudier than fridge’s ices

The Euhomy IM-18 produces hollow, bullet-shaped ice cubes—popular for their versatility and quick-chilling ability. Unlike cube ice, bullet ice doesn’t stick together easily, so if you forget to scoop it out right away, it tends to stay loose and ready for your next use.

The ice from the Euhomy IM-18 is unmistakably Euhomy’s standard- identical to what you get from the Euhomy IM-06, a true 1:1 match. I’ve found Euhomy’s bullet ice to be less cloudy than Igloo’s and more similar to Frigidaire’s in appearance. However, the ice from the Euhomy IM-19 feels slightly softer, which causes it to melt faster than usual.

Ice clarity varies significantly depending on water quality and ambient conditions. I wrote a helpful article titled “How to make clear ice in ice maker?”, and in it, I explain how using boiled and filtered water can noticeably improve the appearance of your ice. It’s a simple step that can make a big difference in the final aesthetic.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Energy and Water Consumption

  • Normal water and energy consumption

I wrote an article of “How much electricity does an ice maker use?” to give you a free calculator to find out whether you are spending more on your ice maker or not. The Euhomy IM-18 operates with a 170-watt compressor, which is similar to the Euhomy IM-06. For an unknown reason, I found the compressor on the Euhomy IM-18, IM-06 and Euhomy IM-19 to be very identical, but the IM-19 needs only 105 watts.

In terms of water consumption, the Euhomy IM-18 uses about 12 gallons of water to produce 100 pounds of ice, about the same as other countertop ice maker models. I covered this topic in more detail in my article “Does an ice maker use a lot of water?”, where I explain why water usage really isn’t something to worry about with countertop ice makers.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Noise Level

  • Quiet operation

Operating at under 45 decibels, the Euhomy IM-18 is among the quieter portable ice makers on the market. It’s not quite as silent as my Frigidaire EFIC121, which has been running in my office for three years, but it’s still impressively quiet. For reference, 45 decibels is about the same noise level as a library, so yes, it’s really that quiet.

Don’t know if Euhomy bought reviews or not but the summary on Amazon shows that people actually praise the unit’s quiet operation. Though it’s the truth, honestly just look at the data, but I don’t think it is “strange” for a portable ice maker to be silent. After all, you can read my article “Do ice makers make a lot of noise?” to know why I said that.

Euhomy IM-18 Review: Features

  • Lacks self-cleaning feature
  • Add water alert, ice full notification

The Euhomy IM-18 sits in the lowest-range in Euhomy lineup, so it doesn’t include a self-cleaning feature. Meaning if you value this feature, like me, like everyone else, you should get a Igloo ICEB26HN instead. If you can manual clean your ice maker, again like me with my Frigidaire EFIC121 for almost 3 years, then any countertop ice maker can work well for you, including the Euhomy IM-18.

Other than that, it’s a very simple ice maker with just one button for operation. It also includes two LED indicators – one to alert you when the ice basket is full, and another when it’s time to add more water. Just the basics you’d expect from a standard countertop ice maker – nothing fancy, nothing special.

Verdict

The Euhomy IM-18 is an Euhomy portable ice maker with the same place and function as the popular Euhomy IM-06. So if you don’t have a problem with the front control board, and you find the Euhomy IM-18 to be cheaper, then why not buy?
