Igloo followed exactly the “iPhone naming” way to make new countertop ice maker, resulting in our today Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro. I could say it’s a unintentionally hidden gem for Igloo ice maker, do you know why? Find out in my today Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro review.
In Ice Artisan, I only review the ice makers that I had used or repaired. So I can guarantee that:
- I give you honest review (both pros and cons) of an ice maker. No hidden deal behind the website.
- I share my technician’s point of view, so I focus not only on the performance, but also the build of an ice maker.
- I compile an ice maker ranking list (coming soon) so you can compare all ice makers easily.

PROS
- Has self-cleaning feature
- Unique design
- Good durability
CONS
- Front control board isn’t my taste
Igloo has been a household name in cooling solutions since 1947, evolving from their iconic coolers to modern ice-making technology. The Texas-based company has built its reputation on creating reliable, affordable products that keep beverages cold for generations of Americans.
Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Price
- Available to buy now
- Costs $89 in the U.S market
- Comes with 4 different color options
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro is an Igloo portable ice maker that you can’t find in a normal way. It’s hidden deep in the product page both on Amazon and Nostalgia Products. Its release means the end for the old Igloo IGLICEB26, and I find both our today Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro and the previous IGLICEB26 share the same SKU (somehow like the same product, but different revision).
I call it the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro to differentiate with other products in the same Igloo lineup. Honestly, unless you’re going with my deal, there is a high chance you will make mistake when picking the correct unit for your home. I hate how big companies think of the ice maker as unimportant small appliance, thus the very lazy and regular naming phase.
Back to the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro countertop ice maker, it initially costs $139, which is the same as the Igloo ICEB33. However, if you follow my deal, the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro can go as low as $89, meaning it’s a good alternative for the Igloo ICEB26HN, with different control board placement.

At this price range, the Igloo ICEBSC26 can actually go toe-to-toe with the Frigidaire EFIC123-SS that I deemed as the best budget ice maker, and it depends strongly on the customer’s taste of design.

Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Design
- Has unique design, with 4 legs
- Multiple color options
Igloo never disappoint us for bringing new design for its countertop ice makers. In a series of small appliances that is just A copied B, B copied C, the dedication of Igloo is truly a plus. Even before the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro, I am enjoying the Igloo IGLICEB26 as something unique, something that I can really say that “I owned an Igloo portable ice maker”, not just a “common” ice maker.
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro measures approximately 10 inches wide, 12 inches deep, and 14 inches tall, so it is in the same size as its predecessor. It looks different because most countertop ice makers at its price range have top control board instead of front control board. One thing that will put the ice maker in a category of its own is the set of 4 legs, that helps stabilize the countertop ice maker when running.
At approximately 20-24 pounds, it remains portable enough when you need to bring it to anywhere else, though it isn’t as convenient as the Igloo ICEB26HN. As an Igloo countertop ice maker, the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro has 4 different color options that suits different kitchen aesthetics: black, white, pink and aqua.
People who don’t like to have the same ice maker as their neighbors should get the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro. After all, an Igloo portable ice maker with an one-of-its-kind design at the same price as the competition, what could go wrong?

Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Build
- Igloo has better durability
- Not a name that needs servicing
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro utilizes a combination of durable plastics for the exterior housing and food-grade materials for water-contact surfaces. While not featuring the premium stainless steel construction of higher-end models, the plastic construction helps keep weight manageable and costs reasonable.
It uses the same internal parts and materials as other Igloo countertop ice makers, and honestly, the quality control for an Igloo product is always much better than other brands. Euhomy is doing better these days than it used to be in the past, but other no name Chinese ice maker brand is pretty hit-or-miss.
Still, the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro’s warranties are handled through mail-in repairs. Though I believe more in an American product, the customer service of this Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro is not better than, said an Euhomy or Silonn ice maker.

Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Performance
Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Capacity
- Produces up to 26 lbs of ice daily
- Internal storage: 1.5 lbs
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro is based largely on the design of the previous Igloo IGLICEB26, but it manages to upsize the storage a little to 1.5 lbs. It is still a similar countertop ice maker that produce about 26 pounds of ice per day – a staple capacity for a modern portable ice maker. I find many users simply search for “26-lb ice maker” end up with different countertop ice makers.
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro produces its first batch of 9 ice cubes in approximately 7 minutes, with subsequent batches following at nearly similar intervals. This rapid production cycle ensures a steady supply of ice throughout the day.

Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Ice Quality
- Bullet ice
- A bit softer but cloudier than fridge’s ices
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro produces cylinder-shaped bullet ice in two selectable sizes. These hollow, cylindrical cubes measure approximately 1 inch in length for the large setting and slightly smaller for the small setting. The bullet shape allows for quick freezing and efficient production, though the ice clarity tends toward translucent rather than crystal clear due to the rapid freezing process.
Ice clarity varies significantly based on water quality and ambient conditions. I made an useful article on “How to make clear ice in ice maker?”, and boiled and filtered water can make difference in aesthetic for your end results. Try this to make your ices last longer.

Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Energy and Water Consumption
- Normal water and energy consumption
I wrote an article of “How much electricity does an ice maker use?” to give you a free calculator to find out whether you are spending more on your ice maker or not. Operating at 120 watts and 2 amps, the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro has a normal energy consumption. It would take approximately 0.46 kWh of electricity, translating to roughly 5-7 cents per 100 pounds depending on local electricity rates.
Water consumption calculations are the same as other countertop ice makers that’re making bullet ices. The Igloo ICEBSC26 would take about 12 gallons of water to make 100 pounds of ice. Nothing special, you can read my article “Does an ice maker use a lot of water?” for better explanation.

Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Noise Level
- Quiet operation
I made some extensive tests just to confirm the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro is another quiet ice maker, just like I wrote in “Are countertop ice makers loud?” As you can see, the noise level of the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro is just about 40 decibels, and it is very quiet. You can think of the noise level of a local library, where people are prohibited to talk to each other.
Certainly the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro make sound when it drops ices, but I don’t think the noise level is anything special. Don’t believe me? Read this article “Do ice makers make a lot of noise?” for a more in-depth explanation.

Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro Review: Features
- Has self-cleaning feature
- Add water alert, ice full notification
- Adjusts ice size
As the latest Igloo portable ice maker, the Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro keeps up with the competition in terms of modern ice maker features. Right on its name, you can spot “SC”, which means “self-cleaning” feature, a very helpful feature to support you in maintaining the appliance. Actually, this is the only feature that I must have for my countertop ice maker, and I’m an ice maker technician, repeated loudly.
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro has dual notifications for both when you need to fill in more water, or when it stops producing ices because the basket is full. They are useful when you plan to maximize the ice making output of the portable ice maker. For most of home uses, they aren’t important.
There is a feature to help you select ice size: small or large, which isn’t important, and I find a lot of customer reviews complaining that the difference in size is insignificant. I can understand why Euhomy straightly remove this feature on their ice makers, like the best-selling Euhomy IM-06D.

Verdict
The Igloo ICEBSC26 Pro is in the same spot as the Igloo ICEB26HN, and it depends on the personal taste for design to choose which countertop ice maker. For me, I still prefer the Frigidaire EFIC123-SS, simply because of its steel housing.
