The Euhomy IM-15 might have a flashy design, but its core appeal is how well balanced it is for the money. It is in the same spot as the Euhomy IM-12 we all love and like for its affordability and portability, but the Euhomy IM-15 adds a taste of an appliance made of stainless steel. In the world of ice maker, will you pick the Euhomy IM-15 or its brother? Let’s find out in our Euhomy IM-15 review.
In Ice Artisan, I only review the ice makers that I had used or repaired. So I can guarantee that:
- I give you honest review (both pros and cons) of an ice maker. No hidden deal behind the website.
- I share my technician’s point of view, so I focus not only on the performance, but also the build of an ice maker.
- I compile an ice maker ranking list (coming soon) so you can compare all ice makers easily.

PROS
- Affordable nugget ice
- Has self-cleaning feature
CONS
- Front control board

Euhomy has established itself as a reputable player in the home appliance market, specializing in portable cooling solutions and ice makers. Founded with a focus on creating affordable yet reliable appliances, the brand has gained popularity among consumers seeking quality ice makers without breaking the bank.
Euhomy IM-15 Review: Price
- Available to buy now
- Costs $189 in the U.S market
The Euhomy IM-15 aims to provide that by-now-familiar Euhomy wow factor at a starting price of just $189. It finds itself in a sub-category of ice makers that are a little too expensive to be classed as ‘budget’, but still quite a bit cheaper than the established mid-range crowd, something like the GE Profile Opal 2.0.
Still, the Euhomy IM-15 remains one of the most affordable options if you’re looking for stylish, chewable nugget ice. It’s priced lower than the Frigidaire EFIC255 and about the same as its sibling, the Euhomy IM-12. That said, it’s not alone in this space—plenty of no-name OEM Chinese ice makers offer similar ice quality at even lower prices. In the end, the real question is: do you just want the cheapest ice maker available, or do you want the reassurance of having a phone number to call when something goes wrong?
For me, the Euhomy IM-12 is still the better option to pick, thanks to its portability. The Euhomy IM-15 is designed to be stay on one place, and for that reason, the Euhomy IM-16 seems to be the better-looking ice maker.

Euhomy IM-15 Review: Durability
Euhomy IM-15 Review: Design
- Use front control board
- Bigger window lid
The Euhomy IM-15 measures 11.02 inches deep, 9.06 inches wide, and 12.6 inches tall, making it one of the more compact nugget ice makers available. At 20.8 pounds, it’s relatively lightweight for a nugget ice maker, though heavier than bullet ice makers. Again, Euhomy aims at making the compact ice maker for smaller spaces, so the Euhomy IM-15 is quite identical to the Euhomy IM-12.
Compared to other countertop nugget ice makers with similar daily production capacity, the Euhomy IM-15 is noticeably compact. Unlike the Euhomy IM-16, the IM-15 features a top window lid, which makes it unsuitable for installation under a cabinet. Instead, it’s designed to fit comfortably on a standard countertop, just like in my case, and personally, I prefer it that way.
The lightweight design of the Euhomy IM-15 suggests that it’s made mostly of plastic, which isn’t surprising given that nugget ice makers are typically heavier due to their larger capacity and more complex mechanisms compared to bullet ice makers. However, the Euhomy IM-15 does come in a stainless steel color option, giving it a look similar to Frigidaire units that often use actual steel coatings for their ice makers.
People looking to upgrade their ice machines might find the Euhomy IM-15 too cheap for their taste. And if you, my dear reader, are thinking the same thing—you’re not alone. The Euhomy IM-15 looks and feels very similar to the $89 Euhomy IM-01, which can make it underwhelming for anyone expecting a more premium experience.

Euhomy IM-15 Review: Build
- Euhomy has decent durability
The Euhomy IM-15 is a new product on the market, even newer than the Euhomy IM-12, so even the first buyer of this product just only use it for more than 1 year. With my experience, I can reveal one secret: the Euhomy IM-15 uses a different compressor than the Euhomy IM-12 and Euhomy IM-16. I find it very similar to an ice maker from different manufacturer – the Silonn SLIM17T, but the Euhomy IM-15 tends to run a bit noisier than the Silonn.
However, after just one year on the market, the Euhomy IM-15 has received many negative reviews regarding its longevity. It’s quite alarming for such a new product, especially when Amazon is very accurate and easy to sort the negative comments for new buyers. I know Euhomy has decent durability, but right now, I will advise you to buy the Euhomy IM-12 first, because of its stability.

Euhomy IM-15 Review: Performance
Euhomy IM-15 Review: Capacity
- Produces up to 34 lbs of ice daily
- Internal storage: 1.6 lbs
The Euhomy IM-15 is a compact nugget ice maker with a daily production capacity of 35 pounds and a storage bin that holds up to 1.6 pounds of ice. It’s quite similar to the Euhomy IM-10, although its water tank is slightly smaller at around 1.1 liters. In that sense, the Euhomy IM-15 feels like the worst of both worlds when compared to other Euhomy nugget ice makers at a similar price point.
Statistics aside, the Euhomy IM-15 is still an average nugget ice maker on its own. It produces the first batch of nugget ice in about 7 minutes, which aligns with Euhomy’s key selling point of offering some of the fastest ice production times on the market. It’s not as good as the Euhomy IM-16, but it is just matter of few seconds.

Euhomy IM-15 Review: Ice Quality
- Nugget ice
- Cloudier, a bit harder
The Euhomy IM-15 is the ice maker that produces soft, chewable nugget ice, also known as “sonic ice” or “pebble ice”. These nuggets are cylindrical in shape with a porous texture that makes them ideal for chewing and allows them to absorb the flavors of beverages. Nugget ice is smaller than bullet ice, creating the perfect size for both drinking and snacking.
Still, for the price you pay for the Euhomy IM-15, the nugget ice falls short of perfection. It’s noticeably harder than the typical nugget ice produced by Frigidaire, and it doesn’t come close to the premium quality of the GE Profile Opal 2.0. The texture is cloudier, but not in the appealing opaque white style you’d expect from well-made nugget ice. So if you’re aiming for the best, Euhomy’s nugget ice likely won’t meet your expectations.

Euhomy IM-15 Review: Energy and Water Consumption
- Normal water and energy consumption
I wrote an article of “How much electricity does an ice maker use?” to give you a free calculator to find out whether you are spending more on your ice maker or not. The Euhomy IM-15 operates at 130 watts, even less than the Euhomy IM-12. Euhomy is making more efficient ice makers at the moment, with their latest nugget ice makers consume less electricity than a typical bullet ice maker like the Euhomy IM-06.
I explain in my article “Does an ice maker use a lot of water?” that an ice maker normally only uses enough water to make ice, and doesn’t use water for additional function. A nugget ice maker like the Euhomy IM-15 normally waste more water in the ice making process, and it can use 15 gallons of water to produce 100 pounds of ice.

Euhomy IM-15 Review: Noise Level
- Quiet operation
For the noise level, I don’t think it should be a problem at all for any ice maker. The Euhomy IM-15 has a noise level of about 43 decibels, quite similar to the Euhomy IM-12 and your normal refrigerator at home. You won’t notice it is running, unless when it drops ice to its basket.
I advise to read my article “Do ice makers make a lot of noise?” for more information.

Euhomy IM-15 Review: Features
- Has self-cleaning feature
- Add water alert, ice full notification
At $189, it’s reasonable to expect a countertop ice maker to include a self-cleaning feature, which is essential for maintaining long-term performance. This function is especially important in areas with hard water, but even if you use bottled water, it helps flush out ice debris from the water lines and keeps the machine running efficiently.
The Euhomy IM-15 has notifications to remind users when they need to add more water to its tank, or when the basket is full of ice and the ice maker stops producing more. These features are common even for the cheapest ice maker available, but they are very helpful at operating a modern portable ice maker.

Verdict
Again, the Euhomy IM-15 is what you should buy if you want an affordable nugget ice maker, and you need the support from a known brand. The Euhomy IM-15 is sold by Amazon, so you can add an extra protection to guarantee the ice maker to last longer.
For me, the Euhomy IM-12 is a more reliable ice maker, and its convenient handle make it a perfect portable companion for users on RV.
