Not only making the common bullet ice makers in budget, Euhomy shows that the company is capable of bringing the budget nugget ice maker into every household. The Euhomy IM-10 is supersede by the Euhomy IM-12 – an ice maker that I chose as the best nugget ice maker. Still, in my today Euhomy IM-10 review, I want to introduce a decent and affordable nugget ice quality, for people who want chewable ices instead.
In Ice Artisan, I only review the ice makers that I had used or repaired. So I can guarantee that:
- I give you honest review (both pros and cons) of an ice maker. No hidden deal behind the website.
- I share my technician’s point of view, so I focus not only on the performance, but also the build of an ice maker.
- I compile an ice maker ranking list (coming soon) so you can compare all ice makers easily.
Jump to:
PROS
- Decent nugget ice maker
CONS
- Lacks color options
- Pricing isn’t as good as the Euhomy IM-12
Euhomy has established itself as a specialized ice maker manufacturer focusing exclusively on ice-making solutions for the consumer market. Founded as a Chinese brand, Euhomy has maintained a consistent presence in the U.S. market through Amazon and other retail channels. Unlike many temporary overseas brands, Euhomy demonstrates long-term commitment to the American market with dedicated customer service and warranty support.
Euhomy IM-10 Review: Price
- Available to buy now
- Costs $199 in the U.S market
Nugget ice makers are usually a significant step up from the typical bullet ice makers you find on Amazon. Before the rise of Chinese brands like Euhomy and NewAir, nugget ice makers were typically priced around $300. This higher cost was largely due to the more complex design required to produce nugget ice.
The Euhomy IM-10 is one such ice maker, priced at just $199, and capable of producing nugget ice that’s noticeably softer than bullet ice. It serves as the foundation for more advanced models like the Euhomy IM-12, using more economical parts and a simplified mechanism to bring nugget ice within reach of budget-conscious buyers. While the nugget ice from the IM-10 doesn’t quite match the ideal “Sonic ice” texture that many people hope for, it’s still softer than regular ice and a good option for anyone who enjoys chewing nugget-style ice.
However, I recommend buying the Euhomy IM-12 for a cheaper price, and the same quality and again, the signature Euhomy ice maker handle. I just took a photo of this Euhomy portable ice maker beside things like the Euhomy IM-18 and Euhomy IM-19, to show which one is bigger.

Euhomy IM-10 Review: Durability
Euhomy IM-10 Review: Design
- Use top control board
- Bigger window lid
The Euhomy IM-10 measures 12.21(L) × 12.21(W) × 9.06(H) inches and weighs 23.7 pounds. This remarkably compact footprint for a nugget ice maker makes it smaller than many competitors – its square design and sub-10-inch height allow it to fit comfortably under most kitchen cabinets.
It looks like a common Euhomy portable ice maker, for example the Euhomy IM-01 with top control board. The Euhomy IM-10 is exactly the prototype nugget ice maker from this brand, so it has only one color option – the most common color option for a portable ice maker – the silver “stainless-steel” finish.
If you’re upgrading your ice maker from a Euhomy IM-06 for example, the Euhomy IM-10 isn’t exactly what you should buy. It is just like a $89 ice maker, with no difference in the design.

Euhomy IM-10 Review: Build
- Euhomy has decent durability
There is one problem for a nugget ice maker with the size of the Euhomy IM-10, certainly the auger and compressor are smaller. It doesn’t really affect the build quality, but for durability, the Euhomy IM-10 isn’t your best one.
In my experience, the Euhomy IM-10 has performed quite well after 4 months of testing. It hasn’t shown any signs of malfunction so far, but that’s still not enough time to confidently say the ice maker will hold up for years. Customer reviews showed that the Euhomy IM-10 is quite good, as I don’t find even one complaint for this ice maker’s build quality.

Euhomy IM-10 Review: Performance
Euhomy IM-10 Review: Capacity
- Produces up to 35 lbs of ice daily
- Internal storage: 1.5 lbs
As a countertop nugget ice maker, the Euhomy IM-10 will have a different capacity than normal countertop bullet ice makers, like the Euhomy IM-06. Providing that you take ice out continuously, the capacity can go up to 35 pounds per day. However, it’s difficult to verify the claim from Euhomy, because in reality we don’t skip sleeping to store more ices.
With math, however, we can assume the advertisement of Euhomy is possible. The Euhomy IM-10 produces nugget ice in less than 7 minutes, to my surprise, because it is about the same as the Euhomy IM-01 – a simple bullet ice maker. I expect normal nugget ice maker to deliver after 8-15 minutes.
The internal storage of the Euhomy IM-10 is smaller than common nugget ice maker, because of its very small size. After all, the Euhomy IM-10 is just the first nugget model of this brand, and it must have its flaws.

Euhomy IM-10 Review: Ice Quality
- Nugget ice
- Cloudier, a bit harder
When it comes to nugget ice quality, budget models like the Euhomy IM-10 tend to fall short. Due to its simplified ice-making method, the texture of Euhomy’s nugget ice is a bit cloudier and less refined. It doesn’t apply enough compression during the process, so the ice comes out rougher around the edges and harder to chew. For people with sensitive teeth or dental issues, the Euhomy IM-10 may not be the best choice.
However, the small nugget ice is the best for smoothies lovers. If you find something like a GE Profile Opal 2.0 too expensive, the Euhomy IM-10 is still a good option to buy, though I recommend getting the Euhomy IM-12, which is a better version from Euhomy.

Euhomy IM-10 Review: Energy and Water Consumption
- Normal water and energy consumption
I wrote an article of “How much electricity does an ice maker use?” to give you a free calculator to find out whether you are spending more on your ice maker or not. As a nugget ice maker, the Euhomy IM-10 will need more power to do its job, and its rated power is measured at 200 watts.
The Euhomy IM-10 also consumes more water to produce nugget ices, though the difference isn’t substantial. You will need about 15-16 gallons of water to produce 100 pounds of ice. In fact, it costs you more water than an undercounter nugget ice maker, like the Scotsman UN0815A-1. Read my article “Does an ice maker use a lot of water?” for more in-depth explanation.

Euhomy IM-10 Review: Noise Level
- Quiet operation
The Euhomy IM-10 operates at less than 50 decibels, providing a peaceful environment suitable for work or sleep. This noise level is comparable to a quiet office or moderate rainfall, making it one of the quieter nugget ice makers available.
You can read my article “Do ice makers make a lot of noise?” to know why you don’t need to worry about the noise level of a countertop ice maker.

Euhomy IM-10 Review: Features
- Has self-cleaning feature
- Add water alert, ice full notification
As a $200 countertop ice maker, the Euhomy IM-10 must have the self-cleaning feature. The self-cleaning function activates with a 3-second press of the “Ice/Clean” button, initiating a 5-minute cleaning cycle. Also, it has the “Ice full” notification to halt production when the basket reaches capacity and “Add water” alerts to ensure continuous operation.
A standout feature is the removable top cover, allowing thorough manual cleaning access. I really like this feature on the Euhomy IM-10, which isn’t available for common bullet ice makers.

Verdict
The Euhomy IM-10 isn’t as good as the Euhomy IM-12, but only for its design. Still, it is a good budget nugget ice maker, offering the chewable ice at a more accessible price.
