The Euhomy IM-FP is targeted to be a mid-range clear ice maker with a few premium features. It’s best suited for those who truly appreciate beautiful, crystal-clear ice—perfect for cocktails, coffee, or anyone who simply enjoys the aesthetics of well-made ice. In short, it’s made for ice enthusiasts. OK, why don’t we read this Euhomy IM-FP review to see if this ice maker is for us.

In Ice Artisan, I only review the ice makers that I had used or repaired. So I can guarantee that:

  • I give you honest review (both pros and cons) of an ice maker. No hidden deal behind the website.
  • I share my technician’s point of view, so I focus not only on the performance, but also the build of an ice maker.
  • I compile an ice maker ranking list (coming soon) so you can compare all ice makers easily.

Euhomy IM-FP Review

PROS

  • Affordable clear ice
  • Has self-cleaning feature

CONS

  • Durability
  • Ice melts faster

Euhomy doesn’t falsely advertise themselves as the best-selling U.S ice maker brand. With a full lineup from the most affordable countertop ice maker to the commercial tank, Euhomy should be the name you think about when needing rapid ice production.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Price

  • Available to buy now
  • Costs $159 in the U.S market

Released alongside the Euhomy IM-F, the Euhomy IM-FP has proven to be the more popular of the two. As a result, it has received a price cut from its original launch price and is now typically sold for around $159.

The Euhomy IM-FP holds the Amazon’s Choice badge for clear ice makers, and for good reason. You won’t find a cheaper clear ice maker from other reputable brands, and no-name OEM suppliers typically don’t offer clear ice models at all. Given its price, performance, and strong sales—over 2,000 units sold in just one year—the Euhomy IM-FP stands out as the best budget clear ice maker available right now.

It is the ice maker designed for people who want to up their games in making better-looking ices, but can’t stomach the price tag or can’t afford the space for an undercounter ice maker. The Euhomy IM-FP’s daily capacity is more than enough for a small to medium family, making ice nearly in instant.

With the resign from Igloo, only the NewAir ClearIce40 and the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS are the potential competitors of the Euhomy IM-FP, but they both cost higher. People who are skeptical to buy more expensive ice makers will prefer the Euhomy IM-FP for certain.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Durability

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Design

  • Use front control board
  • Has steel texture in its finish

The Euhomy IM-FP is not your typical compact countertop ice maker, like how the Euhomy IM-06 does as a grab-and-go unit. It is bigger, with product dimensions of 14.2 x 9.9 x 14.6 inches. At nearly 22 pounds, the Euhomy IM-FP is still smaller than its competitors, so if you prefer your appliance to be compact, it is clearly your option.

Euhomy hasn’t exactly been changing things between its countertop ice makers of late, and the Euhomy IM-FP is certainly no exception. It’s your standard clear ice maker that copies the design of the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS, but unlike the Euhomy IM-F which is 1:1 copy, the Euhomy IM-FP tweaks with a larger window lid. Most of the time you won’t care for this change, but I prefer the larger window.

Being a countertop model, it’s air-cooled with vents on the sides and back. The cooling system uses a traditional compressor with fan-forced air circulation. The ventilation is more similar to the design of newer products like the Euhomy IM-19, but it doesn’t offer any benefits.

The LED display on the Euhomy IM-FP is very similar to the IM-F, but its button location is a bit different. It is still the front control board, which is certainly not my preference.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Build

  • Euhomy has decent durability

The Euhomy IM-FP has an exterior combines food-grade ABS plastic with stainless steel accents. While not as premium as full stainless models, the plastic actually helps with insulation and weight reduction. The ice basket and scoop are BPA-free plastic – standard for this price range.

The Euhomy IM-FP gives me a sense of durability, with well-made parts and a solid compressor. It doesn’t feel as sturdy as the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS, but it’s definitely not made of cheap plastic either. That’s just my impression, but what about other customers?

It seems, once again, that the durability of the Euhomy IM-FP is a concern. However, I doubt many users are doing it justice by cleaning the ice maker regularly. Keep in mind that small appliances like countertop ice makers generate a lot of heat and are more prone to wear and tear. If you don’t maintain the appliance properly, it simply won’t last long. A clear ice maker is much more complex than typical bullet ice makers like the Euhomy IM-06, so it requires twice the care and maintenance.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Performance

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Capacity

  • Produces up to 45 lbs of ice daily
  • Internal storage: 2.2 lbs

The Euhomy IM-FP meets the standard for countertop clear ice makers, producing 24 clear ice cubes per cycle. Each cycle takes about 13 to 25 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature. It can deliver up to 45 pounds of ice per day, but only if you’re consistent about removing the ice as soon as each batch is ready.

In my case, the Euhomy IM-FP performed quite well, consistently producing the first batch of ice in just 14 minutes. That’s a quick turnaround for clear ice, which is great for people with busy schedules. I believe fast first-batch production is an essential feature in a countertop ice maker, and Euhomy is usually the brand I rely on for quick ice output.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Ice Quality

  • Clear ice
  • Clarity is decent, melt a bit faster

We’re spending more to get clear ice cubes, and honestly, the ice quality from Euhomy isn’t that impressive. The Euhomy IM-FP does produce clearer ice than typical bullet ice makers, no doubt about that, but the clarity is still far from the best. In my opinion, it should at least match the clarity you can achieve with True Cubes.

Euhomy IM-FP Review

Just like all budget countertop clear ice makers, you have to break the ice apart manually, which makes it difficult to get perfect cube shapes. Want perfectly clear ice cubes with consistent shapes? That’s when you need to spend thousands on a machine like the Hoshizaki AM-50BAJ-AD.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Energy and Water Consumption

  • Normal water and energy consumption

I wrote an article of “How much electricity does an ice maker use?” to give you a free calculator to find out whether you are spending more on your ice maker or not. The Euhomy IM-FP is very impressive at saving energy, with its rated power of only 110 watts.

For water consumption, I again remind you what I wrote in my article “Does an ice maker use a lot of water?” The Euhomy IM-FP has an average water consumption, using 15 gallons to produce 100 pounds of ice.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Noise Level

  • Produces noise after months of using

The Euhomy IM-FP is designed for quiet operation, and it performed that way during the first three months in my shop. I even wrote a short article titled “Are countertop ice makers loud?” to cover this topic. In my tests, the Euhomy IM-FP ran at around 45 decibels, which is about the same noise level as a library. Most of the time, you won’t even notice it’s running.

However, after checking customer reviews, I found many complaints about increased noise from the ice maker after just three months of use. I’ve also had recent hands-on experience with the Euhomy IM-F, and I can confirm this issue myself.

Euhomy IM-FP Review: Features

  • Has self-cleaning feature
  • Add water alert, ice full notification
  • Has a timer

The Euhomy IM-FP steps up with an LED display, aiming to completely outshine the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS. The display makes it easier to troubleshoot issues by showing error codes, and it still includes the standard features you’d expect—such as alerts when you need to add water or remove ice from the basket.

It also includes a self-cleaning feature, which many people are willing to pay extra for—since ice from a dirty machine can taste terrible. Also, it helps prevent your ice maker from clogging, something that you never want to happen, unless you read my article “How to unclog an ice maker?”

The Euhomy IM-FP includes a built-in timer, which is useful if you want to schedule your ice production. It’s not something I personally need, but hey, everyone’s preferences are different.

Verdict

The Euhomy IM-FP is a solid starter clear ice maker, and considering how quickly it produces the first batch of ice, it’s definitely worth a try.

Still, I recommend the Frigidaire EFIC452-SS, especially since the big brand continues to match Euhomy’s pricing. Frigidaire ice makers are known to last longer, and that’s something you can count on.
